The Work of Don Dahlke

Welcome to the bright, bold, beautiful imagery by Don Dahlke. Your senses are ignited. Feel the warmth of the sun, hear the wind in the fronds, smell the sea air, a bit of paradise you can take home! Don’s trademark is the tropical shadows and also intriguing are the specific details within each piece. These are objects of significance from his life, the stories of which we can only imagine.

We offer a large selection of Dahlke's work. Giclees range in size of -- roughly -- 30" x 40" up to 40" x 60". All are gallery wrapped; which is the image is wrapped around the stretcher bars so the art can be hung without framing for a clean, contemporary look that is quite suitable for the bold artwork of Don Dahlke!

"Passage" by Eileen Graham

Eileen Graham is a mostly figurative artist, this piece is called "Passage," an original oil. Graham's work usually has a narrative in her work which this piece illustrates: What is the woman thinking, what is her mood...

Inside of Gallery View

This picture shows the front section of the east wall. Visible is three works by Vicki Asp: a triptych "California Vista," an original acrylic of Lake Tahoe's Emerald Bay, a giclee of a California vineyard. Eileen Graham's original piece titled 'Late Morning' is on the back portable wall, hanging above a piece titled "Dragonfly Lotus" by Steve Memering along with a very nice handcrafted chair and some plein aire works.

Interior view of the art gallery

I thought to include some pics of the interior of the gallery -- so the blog reader can get an idea of the look and feel of the gallery that one is not able to get by viewing disembodied pictures of the art.

Visible in this shot of the front of the gallery is a four piece giclee California Oaks by Vicki Asp, two original Hawaii tropical landscape by Steve Memering (one is partially visible above), on the easel is an original California landscape of a barn in a field by Maralyn Miller and an original oil of a eucalyptus grove by Brigitte Curt, oil of the Golden Gate Bridge, a dragonfly abstract and a torso sculpture sculpted from a Port Orford cedar log.

California Landscapes by Gary Coleman

Gary Coleman states "My landscapes may start with a generally realistic sketch, but once work in the studio begins, painting takes precedent over scene, emotional response over strictly visual response. My paintings are more about something than they are of it. The push of color to extremes, and the use of line to imply motion help me show what I feel about a scene or abstract idea."

Posted is "Shadow Time on Windy Hill," 36" x #36", $1,700.

Representative abstract by Joan Harvey

Joan Harvey creates her art using mixed media: acrylics, and found objects such as maps, dress forms and tickets.

Shown is "Sew Pretty," 24" x 18" $750, woman wearing a dress with buttons, thread, needles painted over a dress pattern.

The Landscapes of Vicki Asp

Vicki Asp is our premier California landscape painter. She develops the view -- using a strong color palette -- that captures the landscape as a real place, but with an powerful attraction because of the colors that she choses to use.

Pictured is "Vineyard Sunset," original acrylic on canvas, 36" x 48" offered at $3,650.

"I am Sailing" by Terje Nordberg

The Stone Griffin Gallery is a fine art gallery located in beautiful Downtown Campbell, Calif. We specialize in California landscapes by local artists in oil and acrylic on canvas.

Pictured with this posting is an original oil by Campbell artist Terje Nordberg, titled "I am Sailing." This piece is a whimsical depiction of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge. Note how Nordberg depicted San Francisco -- he distilled the City into four sections: Coit Tower, the TransAmerica building, downtown and the Presidio.

"I am Sailing" is 24" x 48" original oil on canvas, and offered at $1,900.
